ḤADĪTH OF THE DAY

“ One of the Prophet's wives(1), peace and blessings of God be upon him, bathed using water from a vessel. The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, wanted to perform ablution (using the remaining water) of that vessel. So she said, "O Messenger of God, I was in a state of major ritual impurity (2)." He replied, "Water does not incur major ritual impurities." Footnotes: 1. Maymūnah Bintul-Ḥārith, may God be pleased with her. 2. A state of impurity that requires taking a full bath in order to perform certain acts of worship. ”

Sunan at-Tirmithiy

The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said, “The wealth of a freed slave (1) is inherited by the heirs [of his emancipator] (2).” Footnotes: (1) i.e. if he passes away leaving behind no family. (2) i.e. when the emancipator is no longer alive. The inheritance is only distributed among the male paternal relatives of the emancipator, not the females. A woman only inherits from a freed slave if she is the one who freed that slave. Click on ḥadīth to read more
